Domestic violence is a crime -- and a very serious illness --- that afflicts and frequently destroys thousands of families across the United States. Decades of tolerance across Latin America, and a lack of education to the damage it can inflict on men, women and children means that the problem is especially acute within this country's growing population of Hispanic immigrants.
In an effort to help Latino families understand the complex roots and many different forms of domestic violence (and also provide them with a guide to local agencies and non-profit organizations dedicated to combating the problem) Colaborando Juntos along with WBTK 'Radio Poder' 1380 AM will sponsor an informational workshop and question-and-answer session at the Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church for families, religious groups, social service providers and law enforcement professionals.
Where: 5900 Hull Street Road
When: 7:00 -8:30 p.m.
